Observe substrate, printing and interventions, stating the conditions and limitations of the examination.
Questions raised by the specimen
Margins, centring, texture, folds, tears, missing areas and repairs can inform a description. Explain how observations were obtained and which details remained inaccessible. A photograph does not necessarily reveal every physical characteristic.
Examination is not a quotation
Here, assessment means numismatic examination and appraisal of characteristics. A commercial valuation, if approved as a separate service, needs its own purpose, date and references. Insufficient information should produce an express limitation, not an apparent conclusion.
