Frequently asked questions
Answers that distinguish identification, condition, receipt records and private certification.
01Does identifying a banknote confirm authenticity?+
No. Identifying an issue differs from authenticating a particular specimen. A conclusion needs an appropriate examination scope and evidence.
02Are condition and price the same?+
No. Condition describes the specimen. Commercial valuation answers a different question, with its own purpose and dated references.
03Can a photograph replace physical examination?+
Not always. Images can support preliminary identification and visible observations, but some physical characteristics need other examination.
04What does a receipt reference mean?+
It records a request when that function is available. It is not professional approval, confirmed authenticity or an issued certificate.
05Does QR lookup authenticate the note presented?+
It retrieves a record when lookup is available. The document, current version and specimen still need to be matched; reading a code alone is insufficient.
06May I send a physical banknote?+
Do not send objects without specific instructions and prior acceptance. Receipt and return conditions must be confirmed for the requested service.
07Is Banknote affiliated with the institutions cited?+
Educational sources and image credits imply no affiliation, partnership or endorsement. Any institutional relationship needs documented support.
08Which services are available here?+
Educational reading is available. This site does not currently accept commercial orders or physical submissions and does not issue professional certificates.
09Is face value the collectable value?+
No. Face value is the denomination printed on the note. It does not establish the price or collectable value of a particular specimen.
10Do mintage and graded population count the same thing?+
No. Mintage concerns production of an issue; a graded population counts records within a particular grading system. Neither is automatically the surviving number.
11How should a corrected document be read?+
Check its version and current status. Corrections or invalidations should retain a traceable relationship to previous records rather than silently erase the history.
Project in preparation. Services are not yet available for contracting. Requests and certificate issuance are disabled.
Do not send physical specimens before the service opens and you receive specific acceptance and dispatch instructions.
